A bladder tank is a large, flexible container used to store many types of liquids. When the maximum capacity is reached, the bladder-shaped water tank is in the shape of a large pillow, so it is also called a pillow-type water tank.

The first engineered flexible airbag canister was made of rubber in 1926 by John Boyd Dunlop in Manchester, England later made of modern materials such as polymers and PVC in Algeria, Africa in the 1950s production. It was invented by André Labaronne (patent number 1.460.825, October 19, 1965) and is marketed under the brand name CITAF (Citernes pour l’agriculture Française). The technology gained popularity in the early 2000s, with many wines, for example, transported on flexitank and bottled close to the point of final sale.

Descriptions

Flexible air bladder tanks are made from a variety of materials, depending on the chemical compatibility of their contents.LLDPE, PVC, TPU and NBR panels/sheets are all welded in different ways; heat, high frequency and vulcanization accordingly. The panel/sheet joins form the sleeve, which is then closed at each end to form the airbag canister.Materials for the manufacture of air bag canisters are chosen firstly for the chemical compatibility of their contents, secondly for UV resistance, if the application is external storage where the UV rays come into play, and if for trucking, other materials are chosen for their Mechanical wear resistance, train or plane.Bladder tanks, static storage tanks, transportable tanks and ISO container tanks have many applications. Some examples that can be stored or transported in air bladder tanks are fossil fuels (hydrocarbons), liquid fertilizers, emulsions, rainwater, drinking water and gray water.

For tanks using static badgers, installation is quick and easy and needs to be level with no sharp objects such as rocks, spikes or other material that could damage the tank. Ideally, a layer of sand or a special floor mat is usually used to minimize surface irregularities. Static storage tanks for fuel or other hazardous chemicals are often placed within lined berms for secondary containment to prevent adverse environmental impacts should bladder tanks leak or fail. For most non-hazardous applications, the floor cloth or sheet is made of geotextile or PVC.Airbags were initially used by the Department of Defense, the United Nations, NGOs for rapid deployment in war or disaster situations, and later for longer-term applications in a wide range of industries including agriculture, mining, manufacturing, marine and aviation.Bladder tanks vary in capacity from 500 liters to 1 million liters. The liquid stored in the flexible bladder tank does not evaporate and any odor it may produce is completely sealed inside the tank.Since bladder tanks work in a vacuum, contaminants can't get in, and what you put in is what you take out.

Water tank

A water tank is a container for storing water.Water tanks are used to provide water storage for many applications, drinking water, agricultural irrigation, fire suppression, agricultural cultivation, for plants and livestock, chemical manufacturing, food preparation, and many other uses.Water tank parameters include the overall design of the water tank, as well as the choice of building materials and lining.Various materials are used to make tanks: plastic (polyethylene, polypropylene), fiberglass, concrete, stone, steel (welded or bolted, carbon or stainless steel).Earthen jars, such as the matki used in South Asia, are also used to store water. Water tanks are an effective way to help developing countries store clean water.

Types

Chemical contact tanks of FDA and NSF polyethylene construction allow for the residence time that chemical treatment chemicals are "in contact" (chemical treatment) with the product water.Underground tanks made of lined carbon steel can receive water from wells or surface water, allowing large volumes of water to be held in stock and used during periods of peak demand. An elevated tank, also known as a water tower, will develop a pressure of 1 kPa per 10.2 cm (4.0 in) or 1 psi per 2.31 ft (0.70 m) of elevation at the surface outlet. Therefore, a tank raised to 20 meters will develop a pressure of about 200 kPa, while a tank raised to 70 feet will produce a discharge pressure of about 30 psi, which is sufficient for most domestic and industrial requirements.Vertical cylindrical dome tanks can hold from 200 liters or fifty gallons to millions of gallons.Horizontal cylindrical tanks are often used for transport because their low profile creates a low center of gravity that helps keep the transport vehicle, trailer or truck balanced.Hydropneumatic tanks are usually horizontal pressurized storage tanks.Pressurizing this reservoir creates surge-free stored water for delivery into the water distribution system.Fiberglass reinforced plastic (GRP) tanks/containers for storing liquids underground.
