The air conditioning system, also known as the cockpit environment control system, is to make the cockpit, passenger cabin, equipment cabin and cargo hold of the aircraft have good environmental parameters under different flight conditions and external conditions.

The air source of the air-conditioning system​ can be divided into two categories, one is the hot air flow drawn from the aircraft system, which enters the cabin under the action of the air-conditioning components; the other is the ram air from the outside, which is mainly used to cool the air from the aircraft system. The gas introduced to the air conditioning unit is discharged directly after use.

The A320 aircraft air conditioning system​ mainly consists of four major parts: regional temperature control, electronic equipment ventilation, pressurization system, cargo compartment ventilation/heating (optional). The cooling air is provided by two refrigeration components. The components are based on the principle of turbocharged refrigeration, and their performance directly affects the comfort of the cabin and cockpit.
